You see, life is based on choices and opportunities we take each and every day. The decisions we make are the ones that create the path of life we have. That is what life is, you come upon a door: either you open it or close it… life is based on the choices you make. Who knows what those choices will lead to in your future, so many things can happen, even the unexpected, even the impossible. When you lose something, something else comes and replaces it. When you find something it can be the most beautiful thing or maybe even the worst thing. Life is when the wrong things change the way you see things, and the way you see things then make you have a sense of new things and better things and you use that knowledge to make yourself better. Not better than everyone, however just better than that person you were. These choices define who you are, where you’ll be, and who you’ll be. My name is Alejandra Jimenez, and my high school years have been a revelation to who I am. You come as a freshman and you think to yourself that high school is going to be so long because its four years. Yet, you find yourself already becoming a senior. Time is something we all take for granted it’s something we easily lose track of. Never would I have imagined my life to be this way. It has been a roller coaster. Through the ups and downs of family circumstances, friends, and school, I have come to learn so much of everything. I learned that in life you will lose and you will gain and you will lose people. Some will impact and change your life others will come and puzzle up your life. Learning who to be around and who to want to be and who not to be around I learned. You see how everyone is so different and others so alike. I have learned from every mistake I have done or seen been made. I thank God for that; I thank him for all that I have been through. Every situation I came upon has made me physically and mentally stronger. I want to become someone who can inspire others, someone who people can look at and say “If she made it, I can make it too”. I believe in that there is no impossible. I believe that my high school years have made me into a smarter, stronger, and determined person. I am the third oldest of eight children. Though I am currently the oldest of five who lives under my dad’s house. I strive every day to inspire my brothers and sisters in becoming someone great. I want them to see that no matter what circumstances we go through, with purpose and determination anything is possible. I want to make my family proud. I want to make myself proud, because I know that I can go through anything. And because I believe that, I will succeed. Being a student here at the Lindsay High School has made me realize that I love being a Cardinal. My years here in LHS have made me the person I am today. Like said “Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal”. Sincerely, a Senior
